GOOD GRIEF.

People are dying like deaf fish in a music restaurant display. It’s kitch and micarb and really close to Halloween.

What are you staring at anyway? Don’t you know you shouldn’t keep fish in a tank?

You should never tap on the glass of fish tanks because it makes the gilled survivors deaf, and they soon die from shock.

Shock can control people’s reaction to death news so that they are numb for years. Some people never cry when they hear the news of someone close to them dying because they don’t know how to feel or have a reaction.

Other people make jokes at times like these. Those people like Alannah Hill should never be a eulogy writer.

It takes a freelance journalist with a music speciality to write the poem that helps people cry or remember a person that has passed away.

It takes a live music reviewer to write the words of poignant passing to summarise the life of another person in time for the daily issue.

I learnt that at Rolling Stone when made to decide with editorial panel who was a greater rock and roll death out of BON SCOTT, SLIM DUSTY and MICHAEL HUTCHENCE and from then on became IMMORTAL.

In the IMMORTAL issue of ROLLING STONE AUSTRALIA in 2004 MICHAEL HUTCHENCE won for controversy because he was found naked, and had masturbated. SLIM DUSTY was just an old man with a lot of records, and BON, BON, BON happened too long ago for everyone to remember.

The fans had all grieved on BACK IN BLACK anyway.

I have been IMMORTAL since ROLLING STONE, and know that my memory will never die, I told that to many people including JAMES FREUD, one night when speaking about death at THE CORNER HOTEL.

When people die I review our last conversations, and hope that I can move through that space within enough time to bury the body at the funeral.

THE TOP THREE DEATHS OF THE PAST WEEK!

NOVEMBER 2 – 10 2010

Who has been the greatest death this week out of JAMES FREUD, ANDY IRONS or SLYCHO MAROWA?

If you can’t decide you wouldn’t make the journalist TOP 10 LIST.

A Hawaiian surfer with a mosquito disease on methodone?

An 80s pop star who felt like a ‘has been’?

Or a black new Australian with a promising career in Hip Hop?

  1. SLYCHO MAROWA

Senseless road act of two cars to hit and run after making impact with a human or anything else. Here was a tragedy that shocked to rival RODNEY KING, and noone knew his name at the time he died early Thursday 4 November. ZIMBABWE born new MELBOURNE MUSIC RECRUIT was set for a promising HIP HOP career when he was killed on the road in Maidstone. With friends he had started a record label called HARD HUSTLE, and would have made his mark on the SKIP HOP scene had he been given more time to make a move. Noone knew him yet, and they couldn’t pay tribute on FACEBOOK, MYSPACE or other GRIEVING SOCIAL NETWORKS. We could guess that he died at about the same time James Freud was preparing his suicide, but both never knew each other.

  1. JAMES FREUD.

Suicide is always hard to digest especially when knowing the sadness that it takes for a person to take their own life. His story has been well covered this week in all media. It was a heavy heart and mental burn for everyone in the music industry and he will be remembered as a music legend. I spoke to him once about PAUL HESTER’s SUICIDE in an emotional conversation. The day before his death a book printing update of my book BATHERS ON THE BEACH added a tiny number LIFELINE 131114 to reference suicide in the poem THREE DAYS. Three days later we had the lifeline number and new books but had dealt with another ROCK N ROLL SUICIDE. Watch BARBADOS for James Freud’s version of a HANGOVER SONG for 1980s EMO.

  1. ANDY IRONS.

World surfing champion Andy Irons will now be remembered for his last win at TAHITI in September 2010. His autopsy won’t be known till about the time his wife LINDY DUPOIS will birth their baby in a months time. Very sick on the way home ANDY IRONS had stopped in DALLAS FORT WORTH unable to travel and died at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Take a look at the hotel when you fly to Fort Worth because its now owned by the memory of ANDY IRONS. The only consolation from this death is comparison to suicide or severe transport accident as in the other sad stories this week. Sad days for all surfing islands in the PACIFIC OCEAN. Kelly Slater dedicated his November 6 Puerto Rico win to IRONS memory and suggested he would trade it to have him back.

BUT WE CANT CHANGE THE PAST NOW, AND WE CANT MAKE THE DEAD WALK AGAIN.

THE DAYS OF THE DEAD.

I have been writing about dead people for the past 3 months and wrote this weeks poem on the morning of Thursday 4 November, hours before the announcement of JAMES FREUD’s suicide and just after the time his body was discovered.

All in a days work, I can cry for other reasons; write a poem and keep up with the demands of the book orders and other commitments. At 4PM when I found out JAMES FREUD died already I was restless and did not want to work.

In shock I announced calmly that it was okay to ‘take half an hour on this’ and process some emotions, but then I didn’t work again that day.

Journalists don’t all work well under pressure and thrive on the news. Years ago I was told to keep a chin up and not to cry, because journalists don’t need to cry.

In punk rebellion because I wanted the world to change faster for me; I cried, and made others cry with me.

We are reaching a GOOD GRIEVING time in VICTORIA, that has come about POST FIRES and the death of so many YOUNG PEOPLE and music industry identities. People are drawn to these stories because they want to cry about their last loss and feel because they have blocked themselves from public displays of feelings for so long.

WE ARE GOING to see people crying in the media, we are going to hear more stories of people dying in the media to help the communities deal with their deaths.

THERE IS MONEY in DEATH STORIES as much as funerals can be expensive.

WATCH IT, UNDERSTAND THE MEDIA, but don’t be so strong as to run from the public emotion. BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO CRY SOMETIME, IT MAY ASWELL BE DURING THE GOOD GRIEF PERIOD.

GLENN RICHARDS

GLENN RICHARDS has a new solo album which he has again mass produced tens of thousands of copies songs about women other than his partner. This particular song goes out to insult women who he calls LONG PIGS ON THE DIRTY MILE, and likens them to prostitutes on the GREY STREET LINE. It is personally insulting to MISS PIGGY JOURNALIST and another outrage of insults in a catalogue that compares her to GERMAINE GREER, a PENNY WHISTLE and many strange animals and BIRDS,

There is a particular theme to the GLIMJACK album where Glenn writes about APPLES (the fruit) a theme which jumped out of the WATCH ME DISAPPEAR book.

I get a cameo appearance with a more recognisable character as ‘THE RED HEADED GIRL AT THE BAR’ next too ‘THE PICKLED POET DROWNED IN HIS OWN JAR’ in APPLE OF MY EYE.

I want him to record something new, because I’m already bored and dissatisfied, but all reviews seem to paint him glowingly as a genius because they don’t know what the songs are about.

Take the final song MENGELE IN BRAZIL where Glenn jokes about the NATZI poisoner from the old gas chamber days who likes to MOW THE LAWN!

Do his reviewers even know he is talking about the BRAZILIAN WAX on a female murderer? “Will I smell the fresh mown lawn of my life? Asks Mengele in Brazil’ is the line that refers to the putrid graphic image, though the innocent couldn’t read the disgusting story.

It is really that gross, and I heard the story he is referring to myself. Another line ‘OGLE ON THE VALLEY BELOW’ in HARSH CRITIC is so dirty as to mention that instance again.

The layers in the stories of Glenn’s music is not really clear to all audiences but he is not innocent and most often is unkind in his descriptions and stories.

For in these songs he glamourises murder when he writes about the NATZI MENGELE though he sings it in a sweet voice.

You needn’t be tricked by the sound, until you have an understanding of the content.

There is only a GLIMMER of niceness in GLIMJACK album and GLENN RICHARDS doesnt really need to play it for 2 years before the next album.

I give it 3 GOOD APPLES for 10 POISON APPLES, though the good ones are already turning BAD. (I dont think that adds up at all there must be 12 POISON APPLES)

POETASTER

1000 Days.

By Alicia Bee ©

I could tell you that grief is a sickness that lasts one thousand days,

At the end of the life sentence served in prison you can walk free,

Given a time frame it’s okay to walk around in depressed haze,

You can cry now for audience; but good grief can take a few years.

For the duration of cemetery stay wear any color,

Acknowledge days passing, sustain life with preparation of tea,

Look outside; notice the seasonal change, but do not blame flowers.

Drink for self pity, and quit your job for a holiday of laze,

Time allows shock to clear an acceptance that death is forever,

You’re now old; everyone dies from her on, this is not a phase,

You can cry now for audience, but good grief can take a few years.

END. Alicia Bee © 2010.

THANKS FOR READING I LOVE YOU LIKE GOOD GRIEF.
